Private Classes

The Real Estate School of the Richmond Association of REALTORS® offers the following private staff-taught classes upon request for audiences of 25 or more agents in the same firm.
These courses are taught by Peggy Lynch, GRI®, RCE and offer continuing education (CE) credit.

Asking for a Friend: Best Practices for Today’s Real Estate Market

The Virginia Residential Property Disclosure Act requires buyers to exercise necessary due diligence when purchasing a home. In this class, Peggy Lynch delivers a deep dive into the Residential Property Disclosure Statement which outlines the required disclosures that buyers must beware of. Dispelling the Myths Surrounding Multiple Offers

Limited inventory market conditions have significantly increased the number of offers being received for listed property. In this class, join Peggy Lynch who will clarify some of the legal and ethical considerations that an agent must consider and better understand how to advise your buyer and seller clients address various common scenarios.

Join Peggy Lynch for an interactive discussion of the trending topics affecting the current real estate market. This class will cover frequently asked questions about standard forms, the current legal landscape and how to avoid common pitfalls in the residential real estate market in Virginia.

Knowing how to navigate contract termination is essential. In this class, you will learn what termination rights exist under Virginia law and in the CVR MLS Purchase Agreement, how to properly exercise them, and the best practices that protect your clients.

In this class, you will learn the proper protocol for contract terminations. Avoid costly mistakes by identifying the rights of termination under Virginia law and the CVR MLS Purchase Agreement, how to best utilize CVR MLS forms, and how to avoid the potential risks of improper and invalid contract termination.

Class Management

When a course is offered privately to your office, RAR will provide the required certificates and credit confirmations. Course credit hours will be processed within two (2) business days of receipt of all required materials. Students will be notified via email once their credit has been submitted to VREB. RAR will also maintain all class and student records for a period of three (3) years as required by VREB.

Private classes may be offered virtually (via Zoom), offsite (at your firm or location of your choice) or onsite (at RAR). Follow the instructions below to book a private class in your preferred format.

Virtual Classes

  1. Submit a Private Class Request Form for a virtual class. If you have confirmed your class with Peggy Lynch directly instead, please forward your confirmation to programs@RARealtors.com. 
  2. After your private class request has been approved, set up a Zoom meeting for your virtual class.
  3. Send Zoom meeting details, including meeting ID and passcode, to plynch@RARealtors.com no later than 24 hours before the start of class.
  4. Download a Sign-In Sheet and Credit Reporting Spreadsheet below.
  5. Send your Sign-In Sheet(s) and Credit Reporting Spreadsheet to programs@RARealtors.com no later than 48 hours after the end of class.

Offsite Classes

  1. Submit a Private Class Request Form for an offsite class. If you have confirmed your class with Peggy Lynch directly instead, please forward your confirmation to programs@RARealtors.com. 
  2. Provide the class location and any instructions for technology use to plynch@RARealtors.com no later than 24 hours before the start of class. All classes include a presentation that must be shared on a screen visible to all attendees.
  3. After your private class request has been approved, download a Sign-In Sheet and Credit Reporting Spreadsheet below.
  4. Send your Sign-In Sheet(s) and Credit Reporting Spreadsheet to programs@RARealtors.com no later than 48 hours after the end of class.

Onsite Classes

  1. Submit a Private Class Request Form for an onsite class. If you have confirmed your class with Peggy Lynch directly instead, please forward your confirmation to programs@RARealtors.com. 
  2. Submit an RAR Room Rental Form.
  3. After your private class and room rental requests have been approved, download a Sign-In Sheet and Credit Reporting Spreadsheet below.
  4. Send your Sign-In Sheet(s) and Credit Reporting Spreadsheet to programs@RARealtors.com no later than 48 hours after the end of class.

All private classes must be offered in accordance with RAR Real Estate School Policies and VREB Regulations. See below for additional private class policies:

  • Private classes are limited to RAR Members only. All attendees must be licensees affiliated with the same firm.
  • Firms are limited to no more than one (1) private credited course per quarter taught by RAR staff.
  • RAR will not promote or staff private classes.
  • Class handouts will not be made available.
  • Private classes must have a minimum of 25 attendees who are real estate licensees. RAR will not charge your office to process credits unless the minimum attendance requirement has not been met.
  • As mandated by VREB’s minimum seat time requirement, each course credit hour must be at least 50 minutes of course instruction. Please keep this in mind when scheduling breaks or any other non-instructional class time.
  • All references to class credit must acknowledge that credit will be processed by the Richmond Association of REALTORS® Real Estate School.
  • For virtual classes, you will be responsible for setting up the virtual meeting, sharing meeting links with attendees and monitoring attendance for the duration of class. You are also responsible for sharing the meeting link with the instructor, Peggy Lynch.
  • To comply with DPOR regulations, all virtual attendees must have a working camera on a computer or phone and are required to stay on camera throughout the duration of the class. No attendees may be newly admitted to the Zoom meeting 10 minutes after the class start time.
