Spring Intern for Communications Department

The Communications Department is seeking a spring semester intern to assist with department tasks in exchange for college credit. Weekly hours and work schedule is flexible based on the student’s class schedule, though limited to the in office time frame of Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm. This position will report to the CEO, but work directly with the Marketing and Communications Manager, and the Digital Communications Specialist. Successful completion of the internship may lead to a summer internship offer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Researching community events and trends
  • Creation of promotional materials
  • Graphic design
  • Social media planning
  • Website updates, SEO and Google Analytics
  • Writing short articles for magazine publications and blog posts
  • Other tasks may be assigned based on skill set

Requirements, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be a sophomore or higher at an accredited university majoring in communications, marketing or a related field
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite desired

Compensation and Benefits

  • College credit upon successful completion of internship
  • This is position is unpaid
