All members of the National Association of REALTORS® are required to complete at least 2.5 hours of an approved Code of Ethics training within a three-year cycle. The current three-year cycle began January 1, 2022. This REALTOR® membership requirement must be satisfied by December 31, 2024. Broker Conversations At its November 2019 meeting, the NAR’s Board of Directors approved a change to the NAR Code of Ethics training requirement. Since 2001, Realtors have been required to take the Code of Ethics training to retain their membership. NAR has amended the requirement from every two years to every three years to give members more time to fit it into their continuing education schedule and to provide local associations adequate time between cycles to administer the program.
