Listed below are the committees of the Richmond Association of REALTORS® and the Central Virginia Regional MLS. If you wish to serve, click the button above and indicate your choices by Friday, October 29, 2021. A member of the RAR/CVR MLS staff will contact you before the end of 2021 to inform you of your committee position.

Awards Committee — The role of the Awards Committee is to oversee the awards program of the Association for awards such as Realtor of the Year presented at Installation.

Communications Committee — The role of the Communications Committee is to provide input to staff on the consumer-facing campaign and member-facing communications. Applicants must be subscribed to Association emails and text messages to qualify to serve. If you need help subscribing, email programs@RARealtors.com.

Central Virginia Regional MLS (CVR MLS) Committee — The role of the CVR MLS Committee is to ensure quality service to Participants and Subscribers, advise on the operations of CVR MLS and administer the Rules and Regulations. Members of this committee serve a two year term.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee — The DEI Committee makes recommendations for policies and actions designed to promote equity and enhance the diversity and inclusion in the Association’s governance structure. The committee also develops strategies to recruit and engage Realtors for leadership opportunities who represent the diversity of our membership.

Legislative Committee — The role of the Legislative Committee is to develop the Association’s annual legislative package—a briefing paper which outlines RAR’s positions on matters that come before the Virginia General Assembly. This committee also focuses on increasing RPAC contributions. Members serve for two-year terms.

Programs Committee — The role of the Programs Committee is to provide input on the professional development programs offered by the Association such as classes and events. Members of this committee must have attended at least two RAR classes in the past twelve months.

Standard Forms Committee — The role of the Standard Forms Committee is to create, review, and revise CVR MLS standard forms used by MLS Participants and Subscribers. The committee ensures that the forms remain in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and consistent with real estate practice in Central Virginia. Members are appointed by the Association President for staggered three-year terms.

Grievance Committee — The role of the Grievance Committee is to review arbitration claims and written complaints involving possible violations of the Code of Ethics, Lockbox Rules, and Membership Duties. Committee members are appointed by the RAR President and serve for staggered three-year terms. Appointed Committees (Informational. Not open for application)

Budget and Finance — The role of the Budget and Finance Committee is to review spending proposals, review and update the dues and fees schedules, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the allocation of resources. The members of the Budget and Finance are:

    • President-Elect – Chair
    • President
    • Immediate Past President
    • Vice President
    • 2 members at large (to be selected by the Chair)

Nominating and Elections Committee — The role of the Nominating/Elections Committee is to oversee the process of identifying, nominating, and electing the future leadership of the Richmond Association of REALTORS®️. The members of the Nominating and Elections Committee are:

    • Immediate Past President – Chair
    • President-Elect – Vice Chair
    • Vice President
    • Prior Year’s chair
    • 2 current directors (to be selected by the Chair)
    • 2 members at large (to be selected by the Chair)

Philanthropic Committee — RAR has a donor-directed fund at the Community Foundation focused on pre-K, K-12, and after-school time nonprofits that seek to support and enrich the learning experience of our region’s children. The Philanthropic Committee works with Community Foundation staff to identify nonprofits that will receive funding from RAR’s donor-directed fund.

Professional Standards Committee — The role of the Professional Standards Committee is to enforce the Code of Ethics through adjudicator panels required to hear matters of alleged unethical conduct and to provide arbitration as requested in accordance with the guidelines of the National Association of REALTORS®. Generally, members of this committee have also served on the Grievance Committee first.

RPAC Trustees — The Trustees of the Richmond REALTORS®️’ Political Action Committee makes decisions regarding candidate endorsements and oversees the RPAC fund generally.
