All members of the National Association of REALTORS® are required to complete at least 2 hours of Fair Housing training upon becoming members and within a three-year cycle thereafter.
The current three-year cycle began January 1, 2025. This REALTOR® membership requirement must be satisfied by December 31, 2027.
The purpose of this ongoing training is to ensure REALTORS® provide equal professional services as an essential part of our commitment to a higher ethical standard.
To satisfy this membership requirement, you may:
- Submit evidence of an approved course completion to membership@RARealtors.com.
- Attend a free Fair Housing course with RAR. These courses are provided virtually. To view upcoming dates and to register, visit your Member Hub.
- Attend a CE Mandatory Hours course at RAR offering Fair Housing credit. These courses are provided both in-classroom and virtually. To view upcoming dates and to register, visit your Member Hub.
- Complete Fairhaven from NAR. This option is free and does NOT provide CE/PLE credit.
- Complete the NAR At Home with Diversity course. This option is available online at learning.realtor and does NOT provide CE/PLE credit.
- Attend NAR Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing training. This option does NOT provide CE/PLE credit.
- Take the course online via The CE Shop. Please email your CE Shop certificate to membership@RARealtors.com.
- Complete the Virginia REALTORS® Equality in Housing On-Demand course. Please email your certificate of completion to membership@RARealtors.com.
REALTOR® Appraiser members and Commercial REALTOR® members are required to complete an approved Fair Housing training course as this training requirement applies to all REALTORS®, regardless of specialty.
Failure to complete the required Fair Housing training shall be a violation of a membership duty for which membership is suspended and subsequently terminated.
