Shred it, Share it | Friday, December 1 | 10AM – 1PM
Please bring a donation of non-perishables or $20 to help make food baskets for hundreds of Richmond families in need this holiday season.
You’ll see the setup in the RAR parking lot between 10AM and 1PM on Friday, December 1. No appointment is needed. Electronic devices will be scrubbed and set to factory settings upon donation to the Tech for Troops Project.
Bring paper/files you wish to shred:
- There is no limit
- Paper clips and staples are allowed
- Binder clips, spiral-bound books (wire or plastic) and plastic covers are NOT allowed in the shredder
- Working and non-working laptops with power adapters
- Desktop computers
- Working flat panel monitors
- Keyboards, mice, and other computer parts
- iPads and tablets
- Cell phones
- File servers and networking equipment
- Wiring (Cat5 and Cat6)
- All other electronics you are throwing away
Electronics we CANNOT accept:
- CRT monitors (old boxy kind)
- Broken or cracked monitors
- LCD TVs
- Fax machines
- Scanners
- Copiers
- Printers
- Batteries
- Appliances of any kind
Our membership recycles over 10k pounds of shredded paper each year and donates several boxes of food in addition to cash donations that benefit shut-in elderly and families in need in Richmond’s 8th district.
