Through your Member Account, you can easily pay dues and fees, view invoices, register for classes (at main menu), update personal information, and more.

NOTE: Please disregard any notification regarding an unsafe connection to your member account as this is incorrect. Our technology provider has been alerted and is currently working to fix this issue.

If you have accidentally unsubscribed from RAR’s emails, click here, enter your information, and then click the confirmation email sent to you to opt back in.

If you have accidentally unsubscribed from RAR’s text messages and billing reminder calls, text “JOIN” to 844.888.8318 to opt back in.

RAR 2021 Dues FAQs 

Dues can be submitted securely online through your Member Account portal, which you can access from the Clareity Dashboard or through the Member Account tab on our website at rarealtors.com. Invoices are highlighted in the top right corner with a Pay Now shortcut where you can select the invoice, then choose Payment Options. You will immediately receive a receipt once payment is successful.  

RAR does not store your password, therefore we can’t provide you your password if you’ve forgotten it.  Utilize the Forgot Password feature on the log-in page if you do not know your password. You will receive your password by email automatically within a few minutes. Be sure your email address is current. You can make a request to update your email address to membership@RARealtors.com if you need to change your email.  

Online payments cannot be split over multiple payment sources.  You can submit payment in full online with a debit/credit card.  Payments made by check or money order can be sent to the Association office.  If you have any questions about payments, please contact us at (804) 422-5000.  

REALTOR membership includes membership to the Virginia REALTOR association and the National Association of REALTORS. Unless another REALTOR association collects your VAR and NAR dues, you will see them on your dues invoice.  

The NAR Assessment is a mandatory assessment for NAR’s Consumer Advertising Campaign (formerly known as Public Awareness campaign), a national campaign to increase and strengthen public awareness of a REALTOR’s value.  The annual assessment is billed to all active REALTOR members at the time of our annual dues billing.  This assessment is a deductible expense. 

To ensure that you have an active credit card on file, check your credit card information in your member account.   If your member account shows a balance, either your card on file has failed to process, or the card on file has not been selected to automatically pay this type of invoice.  

Log into your Member Account to update or add payment information.  When logged in, go to the left side of the main menu page, and select Credit Card Information. If you have a card saved to your account, it will show in the drop-down menu. Select the card and click Submit. Scroll to the bottom on the next page to select Autopayment Choices.  

The REALTOR Political Action Committee contribution is voluntary. You can increase or decrease the amount of your contribution or make a contribution at another time.  

Prepaid dues can be refunded back to the original form of payment if the request is submitted via email to accounting@RARealtors.com prior to December 31stAfter December 31st, your 2021 dues cannot be refunded.  

Yes, we can process a one-time payment over the phone for someone else. Alternatively, you can add your card information to your teammate’s member account portal for auto draft. (See FAQ #7 for detailed instructions). 

If you are not renewing your membership but want to keep your license active in your current firm, please refer to your broker’s office policy regarding REALTOR membership.  Brokers dues include assessments for non-REALTOR agents, so it’s important to know your broker’s policy regarding REALTOR membership. 

Brokers’ dues include an assessment for any non-REALTOR agent, so talk to your broker if you are not planning on renewing your REALTOR membership. 

Annual Dues are posted to your account on October 1st and are due by October 31st.   

Iyour REALTOR membership is not renewed for the subsequent year, membership will terminate on December 31st.  Reinstating your membership after this date will include additional application fees in addition to your annual dues.   

All invoices are posted to your member account Reminders are sent via email and in numerous other communications (like eNews).  We also recommend you check your member account to see any outstanding balances.

To add or update your debit or credit card to be automatically processed for fees, log into your Member Account.

To view open invoices and/or pay online, log into your Member Account with your Login ID and password. Click on “Pay Online.”

Fees are due and payable on the date they are posted to your account. Services for those who have not paid by the payment deadline will be scheduled for termination. Those subscribers whose services have been terminated will be required to pay a re-application fee of $180 to regain access to the MLS system.

Only active CVR MLS subscribers and participants are eligible for lockbox key service. Lockbox key access will be disabled should your CVR MLS account fail to renew.

The federal budget act of 1993 and tax act of 2018 eliminated tax deductions for portions of dues used for lobbying activities. The estimated portions allocated by the Richmond-, Virginia- and National REALTOR® Associations for lobbying on behalf of real estate interests are listed below. These figures should be communicated to your tax consultant.

2021 estimated Non-deductible portions of dues:

  • RAR:  7.7% or $13.09
  • VR:    11% or $19.25
  • NAR:  38% or $57.00

Note that the NAR Consumer Advertising Campaign special assessment of $35 is still considered a deductible expense.

Preserves the Association operating reserves at the level of six
months of operations and maintains the Issues Mobilization,
Legal Action Building (Capital Replacement) funds at current
levels.

Sustains, and indexes to inflation, the funding of existing core services:

  • Advocacy – Protecting our members’ business interests and
    the property rights of all Virginians in the legislature, regulatory
    bodies, and the courts.
  • Legal Resources – All-Member Legal Hotline, videos, podcasts/
    webinars, and education delivered at local associations and our
    state association conferences.
  • Support to Local Associations – Core Standards support, direct
    grants for local programs, AE resources, education delivered at
